VW teases 70 billion Euro investment for EVs

Again there is an announcement of a German car manufacturer, this time called „Roadmap E“ by Volkswagen. The actual numbers look much lower when you dive into the details, as 20 billion EUR seem to be direct investments in the ‚industrialisation‘ of electric vehicles – whatever that means – and 50 billions run into the bid for batteries and a first (!) pilot programm in Salzgitter to learn and understand how to build batteries…

Interestingly enough the press release also speaks of the need of several ‚Gigafactories‘ with a need of up to 150 GWh yearly in battery production power, what shows that Tesla is seen suddenly as the main competitor.
Comment: Hey, VW-Guys, you know about BYD? If not, look it up (there is something called internet, ask your neighbors) there might be other competitors, just in case…
